At Zen Fundraising, we're always talking about the power of meaningful connections with charity supporters and partners. In this blog, we're referring to a different kind of connection, the one we have with the planet.
That’s why we’re proud to take part in Earth Hour this Saturday, 22nd March at 8:30pm.
Every year, millions of people across the globe take this moment to switch off their lights and reflect on the future of our planet. Even iconic landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and Big Ben, will go dark in a powerful display of solidarity for nature.
We’re always looking for ways to support the incredible charities we work with - not just through face-to-face fundraising, but by embracing their wider missions. As long-term fundraising partners of WWF, we’re proud to stand with them for Earth Hour this Saturday at 8:30pm.
Nature gives us so much, from the food we eat to the air we breathe; it keeps us healthy and thriving. This moment is a chance to pause, reflect, and give back to the planet that sustains us. Because when we restore nature, it restores us.
This year, #TeamZen is marking the occasion by embracing small but meaningful actions to connect with nature
How #TeamZen are taking part
Our team is embracing Earth Hour in different ways, all with a shared focus on slowing down, being present and reconnecting with nature (and ourselves)!
→ Orlaith will be stargazing at the beach, taking time to reflect and meditate under the night sky.
→ Our admin officer Rebecca is opting for a candlelit bath and a good book - the ultimate way to unwind.
→ Dylan is settling in to Zen with a book and a nice cup of tea. (Fun fact: Dylan also sponsors a WWF tortoise, making his love for nature a round-the-clock commitment!)
→ Naomi will be planting wildflower seeds with her daughter during the day and spending the evening together in a tech-free, relaxed space.
And when we talk about our commitment to nature, it doesn’t stop when the lights come back on. Duncan, our co-founder, ran the London Marathon last year to raise funds for WWF. a cause he's always believed in.
A Zen moment that matters
Earth Hour reminds us that small actions can lead to a bigger impact. It’s a moment to reflect on how we can continue to support the environment - for more than an hour.
As long-term fundraising partners of WWF, we’re committed to helping protect the planet, one meaningful action and connection at a time.
So this Saturday at 8:30pm, we’re switching off.
